A personal note from Gaston about writing this book
Is the story about me? I'm asked this all the time. All I can say is that the story took nearly 50 years to write, and there were times when I left blood on the keyboard. Once I started writing, I discovered that the truth was easy to recall.

About "An American's Story"
LOGLINE: A 1960's U.S. Navy Cryptographer with the highest of National Security Clearances - Gaston Delesdandroux - involves himself in an affair with Inga Scheyk, a gorgeous but enigmatic woman whose father is a ruthless billionaire arms and chemical peddler in a quest for truth on behalf of the CIA, only to discover he is deceived by all.
SYNOPSIS:
Claus Scheyk, Inga's father, earns close to a billion dollars on Agent Orange and other weapons purchased by the CIA for use in Vietnam. He is also supplying weapons to the Viet Cong through North Vietnam. We are head to head in a Cold War with the Soviet Union during the Missile Crisis in October 1962 in Cuba, and heavily involved in a little-known hot war in Vietnam where as early as 1961 American military are being killed.
Inga is a magnificent, extraordinarily intelligent but amoral woman elegant in speech and appearance but deeply psychologically scarred by a government that modified her behavior from birth in a secret "American Village" in the Soviet Union. Although married to a stunningly beautiful Creole from Southern Louisiana, Gaston's affair with Inga continues following his discharge from the Navy in 1964. In 1967 he invites Inga to New Orleans for a rendezvous at the request of the CIA where she is forcefully snatched away without Gaston's prior knowledge.
Gaston's search for Inga spans three years and two continents, finally ending in a hotel in New Orleans where the CIA once again attempts to hunt her down. This time Gaston rescues Inga and they lay out a plot for revenge against the rogue CIA agent who caused Inga's disappearance.
"An American's Story" -eBook Version
My book "An American's Story" is written as a novel. The story reflects incidents and events inspired in some instances by true events and persons beginning in 1960. It is a fact the main character "Gaston Delesdandroux" is very loosely based upon the life of this author who was, in fact, the 'officer-in-charge' of the U.S. NAS Crypto Center in Jacksonville, Florida from 1961 through 1964, the years so important to the telling of the story.
A screenplay has been adapted from the book manuscript with the assistance of Literary Consultant and Producer Lee Levinson of New York.
As of this writing (May 20, 2009) I do not yet have the publication date of the eBook version but believe it is very soon. The conventional printed book is scheduled for release in December 2009.
If you want to be notified when the eBook version is available, please send me an email and I will let you know the same day I find out!
